This two-lap 10k road race takes place on Easter Sunday each year. The event uses the Norfolk Snowsports Club as race HQ and runs alongside Whitlingham Broad before following a two-lap route along quiet roads through the centre of Trowse and close to Whitlingham Hall. The 2012 race has a new start time of 9am.
Last year's race was another 500 place sell-out and took place in unexpectedly warm conditions. From the gun, defending champion Nick Earl (City of Norwich AC, pictured right) and Ben Russell from Norwich Road Runners ran shoulder to shoulder for the first circuit before Earl pulled away in the early stages of the second lap to win in 32mins 51secs.
Russell was a close second on 33mins 08secs with third place going to team mate Robert Kett on 35mins 20secs. In the ladies race, Sian Slade (Birchfield Harriers) took the honours with 39mins 49secs from Tri-Anglia's Becky Schofield on 41mins 57secs and Rosie Pitt (Victoria Park Harriers) at 42mins 19secs. 421 runners completed the course.
Registration for this year's race is now open and costs £11 for members of UKA affiliated clubs and £13 for unattached runners - please click here to register online.
We thank Sportlink for their sponsorship of this year's race. Registration and chip timing services are being provided by Mucky Races.
As at 3 February 2012, the number of runners registered for this year's race is now 140. We will close registration when the race limit of 500 is reached or at midnight on Friday 6 April, whichever comes first.
In common with all road races organised by City of Norwich AC, registration for this event is online only with no postal entries and no entries on the day.
