The road running section at City of Norwich AC welcomes runners of all abilities, from beginners to international standard athletes and everyone in between.
You may want to take part in races or simply run for fitness and enjoyment. Or perhaps you're just looking for an opportunity to run with a group of other like-minded people. Whatever your motivation is, we'll be pleased to meet you. Our Road Running Coordinator is Richard Polley - please call him on 07767 205922.
Our road running sessions are based at the Sportspark on the western outskirts of Norwich. Please feel free to come and try us out for a few weeks without obligation.
At these sessions, you'll need to wear a road running band which will be issued to you by the CoNAC officer leading the group. Please note that road running is now prohibited from the Sportspark at all times other than those shown below.
Every Monday evening (but not Bank Holidays) at 6.30pm, our Improvers Group meets at the Sportspark for a run of 4-5 miles at a modest pace. Newcomers are always accompanied by experienced runners, and when you can run continuously for 30 minutes you're ready to get going with this group. Please call Granville Courtnell on 01603 879026 for further details.
On Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm, we meet at the Sportspark for a group run of between 6-10 miles. These sessions are designed for those who can cover the distance at a pace somewhere between 6 and 9 minutes per mile, and we split into groups of similar speed to ensure no-one gets left behind. Please call Richard Polley on 07767 205922 for further details.
On Thursday evenings at 6.30pm, we meet at the Sportspark for effort sessions. These sessions are specifically designed to improve your speed and help you prepare for race day. During the darker months we use the road network close to the Sportspark for these sessions while in the lighter months we take advantage of the local parks and open spaces. Please call Richard Polley on 07767 205922 for further details.
On Sunday mornings, there is a longer run from the Sportspark starting at 8.30am sharp, generally lasting around 1 hour 30 mins and longer in the spring as the build-up to the London Marathon takes a grip. Please call Steve Askham on 01603 411524 for further details.
